Vampires have been around throughout history. There are traces throughout the world. Vampire tales first were in explaination to health crises. The Malery outbreak in Europe was seen as many vampire attacks in the 1640s. There are many shows about vampires which have come about recently.
Lamastu, a demon goddess, daughter of Hanu, was the first known inferance of Vampires. Lillyith, where we get Lily Minstrel, was believed to be the first woman in Eden. She started killing humans, because an dark angel was killing her children. It's a misconception that all vampires eat humans. There is a tale where psychic vampires crave and feed off human energy. Some vampires love their reflection. In fact some can be captivated with it for days on end. Some can be so maticulous they could be distracted by counting a pile of seeds.
